Our region is home to many specialized research centres
providing home-grown innovations and technical experts for our key
industries.
manufacturing innovation
Red Deer College's Centre for Innovation in Manufacturing
specializes in the design and development of prototypes, technology
commercialization and lean manufacturing. This unique facility
trains specialists in manufacturing by providing a place where
industry, faculty and studentscan work together.
RDC also works with industry to develop customized trades
apprenticeship and training programs.
New crop and biofuel research
The Field Crop Development Centre and the Lacombe Research Centre, both in Lacombe,
develop and commercialize new products and processes for the
Central Alberta agricultural sector.
Olds
College School of Innovation conducts research in sustainable
agriculture and the environment. Their Biofuel Technology Centre
and Bioindustry Resources Centre allow students and international
specialists to work together on innovative new products and
processes.
